Description
In days gone by, oil lamps were used alongside candlesticks, but slowly replaced them thanks to their practicality and capacity to give off more light. Oil lamps were most common during the 1800s, before the invention of electricity. Our pewter oil lamp, suitable for any kind of setting and decor, will allow you to experience the type of atmosphere to which we are no longer accustomed, as well as bringing a magical charm to your home. Recommendations for using the lamp: only use oil specifically made for oil lamps when refilling the lamp. Be careful when handling the lamp, and in particular make sure that there are no open flames nearby. Unscrew the burner and fill the container. Screw the burner back on and wait until the wick is fully saturated with oil. Light the wick and maintain a low flame for several minutes. Oil lamps produce significant amounts of heat concentrated on the upper part of the funnel, therefore it is advisable to maintain a minimum distance of 80cm between the mouth of the funnel and any flammable surfaces. Do not place the lamp in any place where it could be bumped and accidentally knocked over.
