Description
Stealing water: this is the origin of the word “clepsydra”, which means ‘hourglass’. The first hourglasses worked by passing water from one container to another, and the time that this took became a unit of measurement. Only later was the water replaced by sand, but not just any sand: in order to be able to flow through a small hole it must have the right granularity, and should not be clayey. Our pewter hourglass, characterized by attractive pentagonal bases, is cast, assembled and finished exclusively by hand in our workshop.
