Pewter Steins and Tankards
In Europe, during the last few centuries, drinking beer from a pewter tankard or stein was almost a ritual celebration. The combination of the golden colour of beer, the white of the foam and the sober grey of the pewter was an inseparable one. The celebration ritual is even more evident in the pewter beer tankards belonging to the craft guilds of medieval towns, which featured engravings of patron saints, as if to emphasize the sacred nature of the object. Our collection includes pewter steins and tankards inspired by antique originals from various European countries, that will transport you to a world of castles and countryside, guns and wagons, of dust and beer. Our pewter barware items are entirely handmade by our artisans, and stamped with the GT brand name, which is our guarantee of both high quality alloy and an excellent finish. The alloy we use for casting each object is tin, bonded with antimony and copper. The Italian pewter we use meets all EU and US requirements for food safety.
